The two types of Heating are central heating or local heating. Central heating is often used in colder areas to heat houses. Such a system contains a central boiler, furnace or heat pump to heat water, pipes to distribute the heated water, and radiators to distribute this heat to the air. Radiators may be placed on walls, or buried in the floor to give in-floor heating. Forced hot air systems send air through ductwork with a fan and force it into rooms through vents. Local heating devices are manually controlled self-contained heaters. Examples are: Wood stoves, Electric heaters, heat-lamps and fan-heaters. Central systems are more efficient but local systems are more flexible, you are able to heat single areas with a local heating device and you can also move the location.
